Tuesdey (she/her) is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with the supervisory designation in Ohio. She has been a member of the Association for Experiential Education (AEE) since 2010. She is currently the Outgoing Chair of AEE’s Therapeutic Adventure Professional Group (TAPG) Leadership Council and has served in the past, coordinating several conference offerings. Tuesdey has a demonstrated history of clinical practice and leadership in the adventure therapy field.
Tuesdey began her career as a physical education teacher working with inner-city youth in Columbus, Ohio. She focused on serving children with emotional issues who struggled with disruptive behaviors. In this capacity, she became aware of how much more engaging experiential approaches were for her youth. With this knowledge and her love for the outdoors, Tuesdey began practicing as an adventure therapist at Camp Mary Orton in Columbus. She eventually moved to Colorado and continued her career as a therapist in residential treatment settings with adults and at-risk teens struggling with addiction. After being away from her home city for five years, she returned to continue her passion for working with adolescents, young adults, couples, and families, utilizing best practices and experiential methods to support treatment progress. Tuesdey embodies a holistic, strengths-based approach to her practice and is knowledgeable and trained in the following modalities; Adventure Therapy (AT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure Therapy (EP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
